Two farmers were killed on-the-spot and one more was seriously injured after the tractor they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a Narayanpur Right Bank Canal near Benchaladoddi village in Lingasugur taluk, Raichur district, late on Thursday evening.
The deceased were identified as Parasappa (24) and Timmappa (23). The injured, Aadappa (26), was rushed to the Government Hospital in Lingasugur. All victims were residents of Benchaladoddi village.
According to police, the victims were returning home after applying fertilisers to crops when the driver lost control over the vehicle leading to accident. A case has been registered in Hutti police station.
