Chief Executive Officer of Tumakuru Zilla Panchayat Annies Kanmani Joy inaugurated the e-Beat system in three police station limits of the town on Friday.

Superintendent of Police Divya Gopinath said that it would improve the patrolling system, easily monitor the police personnel on beat and find out the real time and their location with the help of GPS.

The existing point books to record the beat will be replaced by ‘tags.’. The police constable has to enter his Q-R code and password. This will help to easily locate the police on beat. The scanned copy of Q-R code reaches the officer concerned.

Ms. Divya Gopinath said that if it is successful, the system will be adopted in all police station limits of Tumakuru district. At present Bidar, Kolar, Chamarajanagar and Shivamogga have adopted it.

This system has been implemented with the help of Bengaluru-based company Rezler Systems. Company Director Amith B.K. said that this system will help to improve the work efficiency of the police.
