Three-day Marathi Natya Sammelan in Belagavi

The 95th All India Marathi Natya Sammelan-2015 will be held at the C.P. Ed. ground on Club Road here for three days from February 6. It will be preceded by a five-day special Marathi drama festival from February 1.

Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad president and Bollywood actor Mohan Joshi said here on Tuesday that the conference would showcase various aspects of Marathi theatre, such as professional plays, sangeet-natak, mono-act plays, comedy show, and children’s theatre.

A ‘Natya Dinee’, a cultural procession would be taken out in which doyens of Marathi theatre would participate.

Parishad secretary Deepak Karanjikar said the conference was being hosted for the first time here after Independence. Marathi singer and actor Faiyaaz Sheikh would be the president of the sammelan.

At least 200 artistes from Marathi theatre and film and television industry would participate.

At least 25,000 theatre lovers were expected to turn up for the conference in Belagavi.
