Three persons have arrested by the Hassan Rural police on the charge of murder of a person that had come to light on June 13.
Ramesh of Chikkagenigere in Hassan taluk was found murdered near the village on June 13. The police have arrested his wife Savitha (30), his brother-in-law Anand, alias Thimme Gowda (34), and Manje Gowda, a relative in connection with the case.
Background
Raman Gupta, Superintendent of Police, said that Ramesh’s wife Savitha and his brother-in-law Anand were fed up with the former’s drinking habit. Savitha was married to Ramesh eight years ago. He used to drink alcohol and beat his wife, every day. Besides, Anand and Ramesh had differences over some financial transactions. Savitha, Anand and Manje Gowda hit Ramesh with a stick, strangulated him to death and threw his body near the village.
Mr. Gupta said that the department had zero tolerance on matka activities.
