A 27-year old student from Kerala, who had come for admission to a post-graduate course in medicine at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Hubballi, has disappeared from the institute premises under mysterious circumstances.

The missing student, identified as George Abraham from Chevayur, Kozhikode in Kerala, had come to the city with his parents for admission at KIMS for MS in ENT.

The student’s father, Abraham P. George, has in his complaint said that he had reached Hubballi along with his son and wife on Monday evening and stayed at a resort.

As per his complaint, all three reached KIMS on Tuesday morning. While the parents were engrossed in completing the admission formalities, the student reportedly went to use the wash room. When he did not return even after 15 minutes, they tried calling him but his mobile phone remained out of coverage area for some time before finally saying “switched off”, the complaint said.

The Vidyanagar Police, who have registered a case, are examining CCTV footages for any clue on the mysterious disappearance of the student.
