The movement of trains was slowed in Bidar city on Saturday after a chemical tanker got stuck along the side of arailway line.

On Saturday morning, an empty tanker coming from Chidri road turned left to enter into the city near Anand Nagar.

However, he could not negotiate the small curve as the tanker was long. A road muddied in the recent rains created further problems and the tanker was stuck in the mud, dangerously close to the tracks.

Traffic police instructed the railway guard manning the level crossing behind the old RTO office to signal all the trains to slow down till they reached Bidar Railway Station.

Traffic Police inspector Ravindranath and his team members tried to lift the vehicle away from the spot using cranes, but could not pull it away completely.

High-capacity train

They sent a for a high-capacity train from Hyderabad. Till Saturday evening the police, fire force and railway personnel were working to bring the tanker back on the road.
