Special shows planned as Hassan AIR turns 25

Hassan All Indian Radio (102.2 MHz) plans to air special programmes on Wednesday to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The Hassan FM station was the second to be launched in Karnataka after Chitradurga. While the station in Chitradurga was launched on May 3, 1991, the Hassan station was commissioned the next day.

The station covers all of Hassan, and parts of the neighbouring districts of Chickmagaluru, Tumakuru, Kodagu and Shivamogga. It covers a population of nearly 20 lakh.

On Wednesday, the station will have a special interaction with listeners between 8.35 a.m. and 10 a.m. Those who call in can share their experiences and tales on the station.

For an hour from 10 a.m., former senior officers of Prasar Bharati who worked with Hassan AIR will recall their days. Former station directors will participate.

This will be followed by a programme on letters written by listeners.

Besides these, the station will also launch Nitya Sanjeevini — a five-minute programme on health tips. It will be aired every day at 6.55 a.m.
