The sound and light programme at Mysuru palace will soon be available in English and Hindi too.

The programme on the history of Mysuru and the Wadiyar dynasty is presently shown in Kannada between 7 p.m. and 7.40 p.m. on weekdays. A meeting of the palace board decided to organise the programmes in English and Hindi within two months.

In view of an increase in the number of visitors to the palace, the board decided to extend the period of illumination of the palace from the existing 5 minutes to 15 minutes on all weekdays. Presently, the palace is illuminated for 5 minutes after the conclusion of the sound and light programme.

A decision has also been taken to order a Detailed Project Report for commissioning a 3D projection system on the palace premises.

The board also decided to increase the entry ticket rate from ₹40 to ₹50 for adults and make the rates uniform for Indians and foreigners. The ticket for children above the age of 5 remains ₹10.
