A Naik (Lance Daffadar) in the Indian Army, reportedly committed suicide here on Monday night. He had come here on holiday. The deceased has been identified as Naik C.T. Pradeep (36), posted at Jammu. According to the police, Pradeep had consumed poison on Monday night. Initially, his family members took him to a government hospital and later, he was referred to a private hospital. However, he died on the way to hospital. He is survived by wife and a three-year-old daughter. The police said they had recovered a note from victim’s house.
He is said to have blamed his wife and in-laws for taking the extreme step.
The Chikkamagaluru Town police have registered a case.
