The formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the controversial audio clip, and efforts to topple the government by illegal means, as decided in the House, was not discussed at the Cabinet meet on Thursday, said Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.

“Since the decision was taken by the House and administrative approval was already given for the formation of the SIT, it need not come to the Cabinet,” he said, adding there was not even an informal discussion on the issue in the Cabinet meeting.
