Siddaramaiah cuts short his foreign trip

The former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who had left on a foreign tour during the winter session of the State legislature in Belagavi to attend a wedding, has cut short his trip and is returning from Malaysia two days earlier than scheduled. He was earlier scheduled to return on December 15.

While this set off speculation that the Congress central leadership has asked him to return, especially in the wake of differences of opinion among coalition partners over the election to the Legislative Council Chairman’s post, those close to him dismissed there being any political reason behind his sudden decision to return.

They said he was “bored” in Malaysia as he is used to being among friends and other people. “He usually goes on tours with four to five of his friends. But this time he has gone with just one friend. And he is now bored after the wedding,” the sources said.
