Siddaganga Mutt seer presented with Padma Bhushan

Additional Chief Secretary of the State government, V. Umesh presented Padma Bhushan award to the 108-year-old seer of Siddaganga mutt, Dr. Shivakumara Swami on the premises of mutt here on Wednesday.

Additional Chief Secretary of the State government, V. Umesh presented Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in the country, to Dr. Shivakumara Swami, the seer of Siddaganga Mutt, on the premises of the mutt here on Wednesday.

As the seer was not present on April 8 at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi where the civilian awards were presented, the award was presented to the seer on behalf of the Union and State governments.

After receiving the award, Dr. Shivakumara Swami said that “I had not aspired for this award”.

He asked the government officials and employees to work with sincerity and honesty and to serve the society selflessly.

State Protocol officer, Jayavibhava Swamy, Deputy Commissioner, K.S. Sathya Murthy, Superintendent of Police, Karthik Reddy, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Anuradha, Vice-Chancellor of Tumkur University, Dr. A.H. Rajasab and others were present while the award was presented to the seer.
