DCP (Law and Order) appointed

Shekar H.T. will assume charge as the City’s new Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) on Thursday. He will be replacing IPS officer Vinayak Patil, who has been transferred to Yadgir as Superintendent of Police. Police officials said the posting of Mr. Patil in Mysuru as Deputy Commissioner was a temporary one as IPS officers start with the posting of SP. The post of Deputy Commissioner (Crime and Traffic) is also likely to fall vacant in about a month’s time with the retirement of the incumbent M.M. Mahadevaiah.
