Sentenced to life

V.S. Dharwadkar, First Additional District and Sessions Judge, awarded life imprisonment to Khaja of Sirguppa after convicting him of murdering his wife. The judge has also slapped a fine of Rs. 1 lakh on the convict.

Khaja, according to the prosecution, murdered his wife, Ameena, when she did not give him Rs. 500. He hit her with an iron rode on June 4, 2014, the prosecution said. On seeing her relatives coming to the house, he fled the scene. Lokeshappa, Circle Inspector of Police, Sirguppa, investigated the case and filed the charge-sheet.
