Second edition of Mysuru Literature Festival tomorrow

The second edition of Mysuru Literature Festival to be held in the city on Sunday will feature a galaxy of speakers who will deliberate on a range of topics from khadi to wildlife.

The event to be held at Windchimes in Nazarbad is being organised by the Mysuru Literary Forum and will be inaugurated by former RBI governor Y.V. Reddy. He will deliver the keynote address following which there will be panel discussions and sessions on diverse issues, including ‘Why we should wear the fabric of freedom’ with reference to khadi, according to Shubha Sanjay Urs, chairperson of the festival.

Panellists Chandan Gowda, Mini Krishnan and others will interact in a session on ‘Figments of Imagination and Bold Canvasses’. The festival will also feature a session on humour chaired by Krishnegowda and Alaka Kattemane while experts will discuss the heritage of the royal city. Former intelligence officer A.S. Daulat will chair a session on ‘Where the Mind is Without Fear’.

The forum, which is conducting the festival, has been floated to provide space for brainstorming and discussion of ideas besides bring people together for discussions, talks and readings pertaining to literature in English and Kannada. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
