The government plans to divert Rs. 1,000 crore to Bengaluru from the funds that the State will get under Atal Mission for Rejuvination and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme. This is an attempt to make good the loss for the city, which could not be included in the Smart City project, according to Mr. Sorake. He said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a vision for the development of Bengaluru. The Chief Minister had sanctioned Rs. 1,000 crore for the ongoing projects, considering the fiscal position of the BBMP. “We are appealing to him to repeat this gesture in the coming budget too,” said Mr. Sorake.
