Members of “Reaching Hand”, a chartable trust, who had launched a 150-km-long barefoot run to Mysuru at Bengaluru on Thursday, arrived here on Friday afternoon.

The trust, which has been working with vulnerable children and marginalised women, had organised the ‘B2M’ (Bengaluru to Mysuru) run to raise funds for the construction of toilets in government schools.

Members of “Bee Ministries Charitable Trust” of Mandya welcomed the 12 runners here. A majority of them are from the IT industry in Bengaluru.

“We have organised the B2M run to create awareness about the importance of education for girls and sanitation issues through our ‘Girls glory project’. We will provide sanitary wear and education to girls studying in government schools,” a member of the team told presspersons.

Another objective of the run is to encourage girls to work on realising their dreams of achieving high levels of education, the members said. According to them, the team would reach Mysuru on Saturday.
