The annual convocation of Rani Channamma University will be held here on May 20. Governor and Chancellor of the university Vajubhai Vala will preside over the ceremony and confer degrees and present gold medals and honorary doctorates.
V.S. Malimath, former Chief Justice of the High Courts of Karnataka and Kerala will deliver the convocation address.
The candidates who opted to receive degree certificate in person have been advised to contact the Registrar (Evaluation) immediately, according to RCU release issued here on Thursday.
If the Governor appoints a Vice-Chancellor for the university, the convocation would be held in his/her presence. Sources in the Raj Bhavan told The Hindu that the State government recently recommended six names for the post of Vice-Chancellors for as many universities.
The sources hinted that the Governor could issue appointment orders within a week.
