‘Raitha Dasara’ to be held in taluk headquarters

The district administration has decided to organise ‘Raitha Dasaras’ at taluk headquarters. They will be held from October 14 to October 17 .

T. Venkatesh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, who is also the special officer in-charge of ‘Raitha Dasara’, said that an interaction programme, traditional games, cultural events and an exhibition would be held.

Progressive farmers and agriculture scientists would address farmers and guide them to go for scientific and cost-effective cultivation. They also would inform the farmers about financial discipline. Later, they would take part in an interaction programme with farmers in which farmers could clarify their doubts on modern method of agriculture, government schemes and bank assistance. Traditional indigenous games such as ‘chinni dhandu’ and kabaddi would be held, he said.

P.A. Gopal, Chief Executive Officer, Mysuru Zilla Panchayat, who is also the special officer for tableaux, said that over 20 tableaux would take part in the procession on different themes such as social justice, smart city, forest conservation, social justice advocated by Devaraj Urs, legalities of collecting exorbitant interest rates from farmers by financiers, integrated farming, different schemes of the government such as Manasvini, widow pension, and pension for the aged. Another one on the benefits of mass marriages, which the district administration would hold in the district.

Poets across the State will take part in a Kavi Goshti programme. Poetry recitation programme will be held for two days, according to M.R. Ravi, Additional Regional Commissioner, who is in charge of Kavi Goshti sub-committee.

A half marathon too would be held on October 18.
