Pulse Polio drops will be administered to children up to five years in Udupi district on Sunday.
According to a press release by the Department of Health and Family Welfare here on Saturday, the drops would be given to as many as 88,248 children and 650 booths had been set up in rural and urban areas. In addition, 26 transit booths would also be set up, while 11 mobile teams would be moving across the district.
Nearly 2,730 volunteers and 128 supervisors will oversee the programme and the volunteers will visit all houses in the district from January 19 to 21 to administer them to those children who might have missed it on Sunday. Vinay Kumar Sorake, Urban Development Minister, would inaugurate the Pulse Polio programme at the District Maternity and Children’s Hospital here at 8 a.m. on Sunday, the release added.
