Pre-University college lecturers have threatened to boycott the evaluation of the second PU examination.

Thimmaiah Purle, president, Karnataka State PU College Lecturers’ Association, said at a meeting on Tuesday, all members decided to stage a night-long protest on March 21, after which they would boycott the evaluation.

The second PU examination is under way and the Department of Pre-University Education has planned early evaluations as many of the lecturers will be deployed for election duty.

Their demands include reducing the pay disparity between PU and degree college lectures, putting an end to early commencement of the academic year and promoting PU lecturers to degree colleges if they have completed their Ph.D or M.Phil.
