President Pranab Mukherjee will take part in the second convocation of the Central University of Karnataka (CUK) at the ESIC Medical College Auditorium here on December 22, according to Vice-Chancellor of the university, H.M. Maheshwaraiah.
The convocation was originally scheduled on July 28 but was cancelled due to the death of the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Mr. Maheshwaraiah said that, as per the draft itinerary of the President, Mr. Mukherjee will be in Karnataka for two days from December 22 and besides taking part in the convocation , would also participate in a function to dedicate the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) to the nation and the inauguration of Magneto Encephalography Facility and NIMHANS museum in Bengaluru on December 22.
Mr. Mukerjee will arrive at Hakimpet Airport on December 22 and leave for Bidar Air Force Station by an IAF aircraft and then leave for Kalaburagi.
The President will leave immediately to the ESIC auditorium to participate in the convocation.
Later, he will leave for Bangaluru via Bidar and participate in the NIMHANS function.
On December 23, he will participate in the 150th anniversary of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School and leave for New Delhi.
