Pralhad Joshi , Belamagi, Katti brothers, file papers

Bharatiya Janata Party State president and MP Pralhad Joshi from Dharwad, Revu Naik Belamagi and Umesh V. Katti, both BJP MLAs from Gulbarga, Ramesh V. Katti, brother of Mr. Umesh Katti from Chikkodi, G.S. Basavaraj MP from Tumkur and Congress MP, D.K. Suresh, from Bangalore Rural, filed their nomination papers for Lok Sabha elections on Monday.

Briefing presspersons, Chief Electoral Officer Anil Kumar Jha said that 73 persons filed a total of 104 nominations on Monday taking the total to 190 persons and 280 nominations, respectively. Others who filed nomination papers today were: Yamanur Kamble of BJP from Bagalkot; Prakash Rathod of Congress from Bijapur; Dhoolappa of JD(S) and Thippanna of the JD(U), both Gulbarga; Bhimaraya of AAP and Nagaraj of CPI (ML), both from Raichur; Naik Santhosh Omu of the BSP and Nayak Shivanand Narayana of JD(S) from Uttara Kannada; Manjunath Bhishtappanavara of Congress, Shivakumara Udasi of BJP and Ravi Mensinkai of JD(S) from Haveri; B.N. Chandrappa of Congress, MP Janardhana Swamy of BJP from Chitradurga and K.J. Basavaraj of AAP from Davangere; K. Arkesh of AAP and Robin Mathews Narekattu of Samajawadi Party from Chickballapur; V. Muniswamy of SP from Kolar; S. Jagannath of AAP, G.R. Shivashankar of All India Forward Bloc and Neena P. Nayak from Bangalore South; R. Prabhakara Reddy of JD(S) from Bangalore Rural; C.S. Puttaraju of JD(S) from Mandya; Balakrishnan of AAP from Bangalore Central and K.Yadav Shetty of CPI(M) from Dakshina Kannada.

New voters

He said 15.7 lakh new voters have been included in the electoral rolls in the State. This included those who had applied online. Still, about 40,000 applications were in the process of being considered and they would also be included. EPIC cards would be issued to those who applied for them at designated places including BangaloreOne.
