The district committee of the Karnataka Prantha Krishi Kooli Karmikara Sangha has opposed the Maharashtra Animal Prevention (Amendment Bill), 1995, which got the President’s assent, banning cow slaughter in Maharashtra, on Monday.
In a release here on Wednesday, Dawalsab Nadaf and Mallayya Polamaplli, president and vice-president of the sangha, have said the bill would prevent individuals from getting food that they wanted.
They alleged that the Maharashtra government had followed an anti-Dalit and anti-Muslim policy by putting its “hidden agenda” forcibly and added that the bill should be opposed widely.
