‘No guts to carry out drive against rich’

June 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - HUBBALLI:

Alleging that the Hubballi-Dharwad municipal commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad had only targeted buildings of ordinary citizens, BJP councillors have complained that the rich have been spared.

The former Mayor Viranna Savadi went one step ahead saying that the Deputy Commissioner did not have the guts to take action against buildings owned by the rich and the influential. “Many buildings owned by the rich and the influential have been left out.

No action has been taken against those buildings against which the councillors and the public had complained to the municipal commissioner,” Mr. Savadi alleged on Monday.

He also sought to know the reason for dropping over 900 buildings from the drive and also why the drive was stopped after few days.
