National Health Assurance Mission soon: Harsh Vardhan

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan on Friday said the National Health Assurance Mission (NHAM) will be rolled out in the next couple of months.

Speaking after visiting various facilities at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) and launching the architectural design of Centre for Excellence coming up at the AIISH here, Dr Vardhan said the mission focuses on preventive healthcare and neurological disorders.

He said the expertise of faculty members of AIISH would be made use for carrying out some of the activities planned under the mission.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader, who launched the concept for the proposed speech and hearing museum, said the State will work collectively with the Centre for addressing communication disorders.

He promised to provide necessary support from the State government for the new facilities proposed by the AIISH.

Mysore MP Pratap Simha, AIISH Director S R Savitri, MLA Vasu and Lov Verma, secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare were present.
