Nagarothana implementation: Udupi tops State, says DC

R. Vishal, Deputy Commissioner, said on Friday that Udupi district had topped the State in the implementation of works under the second phase of Nagarothana project.

In a press release issued here recently, Dr. Vishal said that impressed by this performance, the State government had decided to provide more funds for development of municipalities in the district. This would help in providing better infrastructure and facilities in the towns of the district.

Rs. 45 crore was expected for the district under Nagarothana-III project. Of this Rs. 45 crore, Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) would get Rs. 30 crore, Kundapur and Karkala Town Muncipal Councils (TMCs) and Saligrama Town Panchayat Rs. 5 crore each.

The systematic implementation of works under Nagarothana-II had been possible because of the cooperation of the elected representatives and officials. As many as 18 works in Udupi CMC, nine works in Kundapur TMC, four works in Karkala TMC and nine works in Saligrama Town Panchayat had been completed under it, the release added.
