‘More workshops required on quasi-judicial functions’

October 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - KALABURAGI:

Inspector-General of Police (North Eastern Range) Sunil Agarwal was all praise for the outcome of a two-day workshop on ‘Issues in Quasi-Judicial Functions’ that concluded in Kalaburagi city on Sunday. He said similar interactive workshops were needed for officials of various departments to improve inter-departmental communication. Speaking at the valedictory of the workshop, Mr. Agrawal called upon the officials to make full use of such workshops and reach out to society by bridging the gap between the people and the police.

He said even after more than six decades of Independence, the police had failed to reach out to the common people. The victims still fear poor response and lack of sympathy from the police. He said the innocent should not suffer and the criminals should not be spared.

The police and the law have a common goal to follow and seek truth without fear, he said.
