The Special Executive Committee of State BJP Minority Morcha, which met here on Wednesday, adopted a unanimous resolution seeking ban on cow slaughter, repatriation of Bangladeshi infiltrators, and action against those who have encroached on Wakf property.

The committee urged the State governments to identify the infiltrators from Bangladesh and initiate steps to send them back. The resolution said the illegal immigrant Bangladeshis, who are settled in various parts including Karnataka, were trying to become permanent residents by availing Indian identity papers. Their presence would hit the Indian Muslim community hard in getting government benefits.

In another resolution, the Morcha expressed concern over Wakf properties. According to a report by the State Backward Class Commission, properties worth Rs. 2 lakh crore, out of the total properties worth Rs. 4.10 lakh crore, had been misused. The report also accused Qamarul Islam, Minister for Wakf, of encroaching upon Wakf properties, and demanded his resignation. It also urged the government to take action against such encroachers.

In yet another resolution, the committee favoured a ban on cow slaughter in order to hurt the sentiments of the people. The meeting was inaugurated by Abdul Rashid Ansari, president, National BJP Minority Morcha.
