Minister’s PA, gunman, 11 others injured in accident

Minister for Higher Education, R.V. Deshpande’s personal assistant Srinivas, his gunman Vinith Hegde and 11 others were injured in a road accident near Bellavi cross in Tumakuru district on Sunday morning.

The police said that 13 passengers including the driver of the private Volvo bus, Puttu (23) were seriously injured and have been shifted to Bengaluru.

The bus was going to Bengaluru from Goa and the Minister’s personal assistant and gunman were travelling from Karwar to Bengaluru. The bus rammed into a moving lorry near Bellavi cross around 7 a.m. injuring the passengers.

Srinivas and Vinith Hegde have been shifted to Bengaluru for treatment. A case is registered in Kora police station.
