Man killed as bus hits motorcycle

June 14, 2017 10:44 pm | Updated 10:44 pm IST - MYSURU

One person was killed on the spot and another injured when a KSRTC bus hit their two-wheeler at Hunsur, on Tuesday.

Manjunath, who was riding the motorcycle, died on the spot. Ravikiran, who was riding pillion, sustained grievous injuries and has been hospitalised.

The bus coming from Periyapatna was heading towards Mysuru. The driver, apparently, tried to overtake another vehicle and in the process swerved to the right and collided with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

A cyclist, who was just behind the motorcycle, had a narrow escape, and CCTV footage of the accident indicated that the bus was being driven rashly. The Hunsur town police have taken the KSRTC driver into custody.
