One man was killed while another was injured when lightning stuck them at Nalkur village in Udupi taluk coming under Hebri police station limits on October 1.
According to the police, lightning struck the house of Shambhu Shetty (50) at around 3 p.m. on October 1. Shetty died while his daughter, Jyoti, suffered minor injuries. The house also developed a crack.
The electronic equipment in the house of Sheena Naik, about 100 feet away from Shetty’s house, also was destroyed. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Hebri police station, the police said.
