Fire personnel said a short circuit at the centralised AC of a store was the reason for the fire in Dharwad on Saturday.
A major fire accident in a multi-storeyed commercial complex here was averted on Saturday.
The complex, located near Jubilee Circle, houses over 50 shops.
People and shopkeepers who noticed smoke in the basement of the complex alerted the fire personnel, who rushed to the spot and doused the blaze. No one sustained burns or injuries in the incident. Soon after an alarm was raised, the complex was cleared of people, a shopkeeper said.
