The Mysuru division of KSRTC is observing “save-fuel campaign” from January 16 to February 15. During the period, officials will educate drivers on ways to conserve diesel and good driving habits. V.S. Jagadish, Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Mysuru division, told The Hindu that during the month, the fuel efficiency would be calculated daily. At bus stand, drivers keep the engine running well before the departure time. Implicit in it, is the belief that if the engine is kept running it would give the passengers an impression that the bus is about the leave. He said the attitude of the drivers has to change.
