August 19, 2012 03:01 am | Updated 03:01 am IST - BANGALORE:

Schoolgirl Kavita, who was set on fire on Thursday by a nine-member gang which had a grouse against her father at Weavers Colony in Bannerghatta, died of her burns on Saturday.

Sources in the Victoria Hospital said the child, who had suffered 85 per cent burns, passed away around 8.15 a.m.

Her death comes a day after the Hulimavu police arrested the nine men.

About a year ago, her father, Venkatesh, had filed a police complaint against Harish, the main accused, and his associates for committing a robbery.

Electrocuted

A dinner guest was electrocuted on Friday night when he touched some wires hanging from a pandal in Rajarajeshwarinagar.

Sridhar Rao (26), a resident of Bangarappanagar and an employee of TVS, was at his relative Lakshman Rao’s house for dinner when he came in contact with the wires.

There was a drizzle at the time and Sridhar, who suffered burns mainly in the stomach region, fell down.

Sridhar was taken to the BGS Global Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
