Karnataka power sector is looking at Gujarat for modernising its old thermal power plant of the Raichur Thermal Power Station. Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje on Monday told the Legislative Council that she had sent a team of officials to Gujarat to study its example of renovating old thermal power units using modern technology.
Pointing out that the first two generating units of the RTPS were set up nearly 25 years ago, she said they had been posing problems in the last few years. Karnataka wanted to try out the Gujarat model of renovation, she said.
