Steps will be taken to install CCTV cameras in Bengaluru’s government primary schools having strength of over 200 girl students (four CCTV cameras in each school) in the first stage. Schools in other parts of the State will be covered subsequently, Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar said in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
He was replying to BJP member L.A. Ravi Subramanya during Question Hour. The first phase would also cover over 3,000 SSLC and PUC examination centres.
The government had come out with a circular to schools to ensure safety of girl students, which also applies to private schools, he said.
