Kantimani elected president of Yadgir District Bar Association

Mallikarjun M. Kantimani has been elected as the new president of Yadgir District Bar Association by a margin of 68 votes against Saibanna Ganapur in the election held in Yadgir on Wednesday.

According to R.B. Joshi, Assistant Election Officer, that Mr. Kantimani secured 149 votes while Mr. Ganapur 81 votes.

Of the 243 registered members, 230 have exercised their franchise, Mr. Joshi said and added that the term of the new president would be one year.

Mr. Joshi also said that the other office bearers have already been elected unanimously: Basavaraj Haligeri (Vice-president), Maruti Ete (Secretary), Govind Jadhav (Joint Secretary) and Devindrappa Yaragol (Treasurer) respectively.

Election was peaceful. Mahipal Reddy Itagi, Chief Election Officer, conducted the election.
