Bhagwant Khuba, MP, inaugurated Kalyan Parva celebrations in Basava Kalyan on Sunday.
He said that the philosophy of Basaveshwara was relevant for all times to come. Pandit Chidri, chairman, Karnataka State Sheep and Wool Development Corporation said that the cultural revolution led by Basaveshwara was against caste, class and gender discrimination.
Mate Mahadevi said that organisations like the Vishwa Basava Dharma Peetha and the Rashtriya Basava Dal had been organising the parva for 14 years now.
