As part of an initiative for a ‘Cleaner Hubballi’ and its beautification, a Kala Jatha was organised here on Saturday in which students, teachers and professionals took part.

Beginning from the Moorusavir Mutt, the jatha passed through the thoroughfares of the city before concluding at Mini the Vidhana Soudha where a memorandum was submitted to the Hubballi tahsildar.

Subsequently a ‘Kala Habba-2015’ was held on Vijay Mahanthesh Fine Arts College premises in which paintings were put on display and for sale.

Shivarudra Trust, Bengaluru, and students of the Fine Arts College organised the event.

Retired Medical Officer N.B. Nitali, President of Shivarudra Trust G.S Mahagavankar, artist and architect Mustaq Madaki, and event coordinator and artist Shankar Kundgol inaugurated the event.

The exhibition-cum-sale of paintings will conclude on Sunday.
