The two-day Kadambotsava event will begin on Saturday. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the programme at Mayuravarma Vedike at 6 p.m.
The Pampa Award for 2014 will be conferred on Kannada writer G.Venkatasubbayya on the occasion. Tourism Minister R.V. Deshpande will preside over the program. Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashree will be the chief guest.
Kanara MP Anantkumar Hegde, MLAs and MLCs of the district and peoples’representaives and senior officials will be present on the occasion.
The Kadambotsava procession will be inaugurated by Mr. Deshpande at 3.30 p.m. There will be Bedarvesha dance, Gumate Pang, Dollu Kunita,Veeragase, Suggikunita, Maragalu and other dance forms in the procession.
In the cultural programmes there will be shehnai recitals, Bharatanatyam, Sugama sangeet, Rasamanjari, fusion music, poets’ meet ,Dasavani, Kathak, glow art display .
