‘Yoga improves concentration’

In Chitradurga, Minister for Social Welfare and District in-charge H. Anjaneya has stated that practice of yoga improves concentration and increases confidence among people.

Speaking after inaugurating International Yoga Day at Old Middle School grounds here on Sunday, he stated that every individual in the society should voluntarily come forward to practise yoga.

Parents should encourage their children to practise yoga from childhood as it will help them to maintain good health and concentrate in studies.

Presiding over the programme, MLA G.H. Tippareddy informed that 193 nations across the world are celebrating the maiden International Yoga Day. Since it is not confined to any particular class of people, caste, creed or sex, every individual should practise yoga to maintain good health.

More than 1,000 persons took part in the programme.

In Davangere, inaugurating the programme MLA H.S. Shivshankar opined that regular practice of yoga helps in maintaining good health and if it’s practised from childhood, it will increase the life span by protecting from diseases and mental stress. So the teachers and parents should encourage children to practise yoga for at least 30 minutes every day.

The Union government had taken several measures to protect the health of people including introduction of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the people should take part in such programmes and contribute to the development of the nation, he added.

Deputy Commissioner S.T. Anjan Kumar and zilla panchayat CEO S.B. Bommanhalli were present.
