The two Jamboo Savaris held here on Thursday and Friday added colour to the Navaratri festival.
The Jamboo Savari organised by Sri Maruti Temple Management Trust’s Dharwad Moola Dasara Jamboo Savari Utsava Samiti was held on Friday. Mallikarjun Swami, the seer of Murugha Mutt, flagged off the savari. Ashok Kheny, MLA, was present.
The procession passed through Rayara Mutt, Railway Station Road, Mahishi Road, Hosayellapur, Gandhi Chowk, Subhash Road, Old Bus-Stand, Regal Talkies and Savadatti Road to culminate at the Murugha Mutt, where Banni Mahakali puja was performed in the presence of the seer.
The Jamboo Savari organised by the Dharwad Dasara Jamboo Sawari Samithi was held on Thursday.
It was flagged off by Hubballi’s Murusavira Mutt seer Gurusiddha Rajayogendra Swami.
Both the processions turned out to be colourful which attracted a large number of people. Three pachyderms were the main attraction of the procession apart from nearly 40 different performing art troupes from across the State and 25 tableaux.
Four chariots from Kolhapur, Dollu Kunitha, Karadi Mela, Jhanj Mela, and Gombe Kunitha reflected the cultural heritage of the country.
