After Bengaluru North and Tumakuru, it is now the turn of Congress leaders and workers from Hassan to lay down conditions to support the JD(S) candidate from the constituency, Public Works Minister H.D. Revanna’s son Prajwal Revanna.

Congress leaders on Wednesday met Congress Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and expressed their difficulties in supporting Mr. Prajwal Revanna in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Some of the complaints by the Congress leaders against Mr. Revanna included registration of “false cases” against Congress workers, alleged discrimination in releasing funds, tender works and allotment of houses built under various schemes, and attacks on Congress workers. Nearly 300 party workers, led by former legislators B. Shivaram and C.S. Putte Gowda, met Mr. Siddaramaiah.

The former Minister A. Manju had already quit the party and joined the BJP. More leaders might follow him if the leadership failed to take cognisance of their complaints, they added.
