Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council K.S. Eshwarappa has demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah issue a White Paper on the performance of the Congress government in the State that has completed two years.
The performance of the government in the agriculture, the rural development and the infrastructure upgrade sectors was poor. The Chief Minister who also holds the Finance portfolio had failed to allocate ample funds in the budget for these sectors, he said. Employment generation in Karnataka was also not on expected levels from past two years, he told presspersons here on Wednesday.
He also lashed out at the Congress leaders for their plan to organise a convention of party activists in Davangere on May 16. As the government’s performance had disappointed the people, it was a meaningless exercise, he said.
Farmers suffered loss due to the untimely rain recently and it was unfortunate that the government failed to help them, he added.
