Inspector assaulted

A police inspector on duty was allegedly assaulted by those transporting sand illegally near Hassan on Friday morning. Manje Gowda, attached to the Special Crime Bureau of the district, was on duty to stop and check documents related to carrying sand on National Highway 75 near Channapatna.

As he stopped a truck, he was assaulted by those in the truck. He suffered injuries in his head. He also lost his cell phone in the milieu. He has been admitted to the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences. Superintendent of Police Raman Gupta has constituted two teams to nab the accused.
