Inquiry against KUD professor

Taking note of a newspaper report about a professor of Karnatak University, Dharwad, demanding bribe from research students to help complete their research, Karnataka Lokayukta Y. Bhaskar Rao has initiated suo motu action and ordered an inquiry .

Joint Commissioner of Karnataka Lokayukta on Monday said the Additional Director General of Police, Lokayukta, Bengaluru, had been asked to take it up under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Noor Jahan Ganiyar, Dean of Education Department, Karnatak University, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 4 lakh from two students to get their research completed.
