Stakeholders in the Mysuru tourism sector have come forward to introduce attractions that are popular in neighbouring Kerala where tourism thrives.
Houseboat is one such proposal which they are keen to introduce in Varuna Lake, which is a hub for adventure sports here.
“Some people are ready to invest in houseboats’ project to bring newness to the city’s tourist attractions. But they want an assurance and support from the government. They are also ready to introduce para-sailing at the lake,” said Mysuru Tourism Forum Chairman B.S. Prashanth.
At the stakeholders’ meeting chaired by Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh here on Tuesday, he said adventure enthusiasts who were once looking for Mysuru as a destination for sky diving, are now going to Dubai, with the sky diving agency wrapping up its operations here.
