Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda has hinted at his son and Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s entry into national politics. “He may go to national politics. Of course, there is no urgency for that. He has a long political career”, he said while responding to a question in Hassan on Monday morning.

Mr. Deve Gowda and his family members including the Chief Minister took part in a special pooja at the Eshwara Temple at Haradanahalli in Holenarasipur taluk.

Mr. Gowda said the JD(S) would support AICC President Rahul Gandhi for the Prime Minister’s post if the Congress-led alliance comes to power in 2019. “I have no plans to contest the next Lok Sabha polls. I have told my grandson Prajwal Revanna to contest. If he does not want to, I will contest”, he said. Regarding the coalition government in the State, Mr. Gowda said that it would remain intact. There were no chances of disturbing the coalition.
