Government officials worked on second Saturday to clear pending bills.

Officials of Horticulture, Agriculture, Sericulture, and Fisheries Departments were seen examining documents and preparing the bills to be submitted to the Treasury on Monday, which is the deadline to submit the bills.

Snacks were supplied to the employees on the premises of the Horticulture and Agriculture departments. Applications of the beneficiaries seeking subsidy under different schemes were being scrutinised and approved by the officials.

The Joint Director of the Agriculture Department, Deputy Director of Horticulture Department, Assistant Director for fisheries and various heads of departments were seen working along with the officials. According to official sources, it was not a last minute effort to submit the bills.
